Mao C. Tits
I visited the Duncan Miller Gallery last weekend and to my surprise there was an exhibition of the Gao Brothers work. If you are unfamiliar with their work you should visit the gallery and check it out. Well known for their provacative images of Mao that survive only outside of China, this piece was extraordinary. Images that are not positive of Mao still angers the Chinese government and the Gao's have been incarcerated for it. Their lives and works are constantly being monitored by the government ever since. However, they have another body of work in their photography that is very interesting and should be seen if you get the chance.
